Flight Test Instrumentation

Flight test instrumentation (FTI) is essential to acquire, display and record the specific data parameters required to develop Ship–Helicopter Operating Limits (SHOL).

Prism Defence’s engineering team manages the technical challenges of developing FTI while meeting the airworthiness requirements of the regulatory authorities of our customers.

We have demonstrated experience across all aspects of developing flight test instrumentation suites for both military and civil clients including:

  • design
  • manufacture
  • structural analysis
  • electrical loads analysis
  • installation and removal
  • certification documentation
At Prism Defence, we maintain a close working relationship with our customers to ensure that all requirements are addressed and the FTI and associated documentation meet the appropriate airworthiness regulations.

Our engineering processes ensure that the customer is informed throughout FTI development through:
  • customer site visits to scope FTI requirements
  • regular design reviews and updates
  • complete transparency of all designs
  • provision of certification documentation

Prism Defence’s engineering team is familiar with military and civil aviation engineering processes and regulations. We work closely with all stakeholders from aircraft technicians to airworthiness approval organisations to make sure that the FTI suite meets the needs of our customers and it is safe, robust and reliable.
